Our Lady of Lourdes Parish presents VIRTUS
“Protecting God’s Children & Vulnerable Adults” program

As part of our continued commitment to create safe environments for the children and vulnerable adults within our parishes, schools, and communities, we are pleased to inform you of the implementation of the VIRTUS “Protecting God’s Children and Vulnerable Adults Program” in the Diocese of Charleston and here at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.  This illuminating program will allow us to have a broader impact on all individuals having contact with the children and vulnerable adults entrusted to our care.  Everyone identified below must attend this program regardless of their attendance at a previous safe environment program.  However we welcome any member of OLOL parish community.  Members of the Greenwood community are more than welcome to attend. 

WHO MAY ATTEND:
We encourage all adults to attend this informative and important  training.  Those who have attended a VIRTUS session prior to this are more than welcome to attend as a refresher.  It is important that we all continue to work together in creating and  maintaining a safe environment for children.  Please join us.

WHO MUST ATTEND:
All volunteers who have access to children or vulnerable adults  (infirmed, disabled, or aged).  This includes in our parish:

• Adult English and Spanish choir members working with children’s choir
• Adult leaders and adult assistants of OLOL Youth Group
• Adult leaders and adult assistants who work with OLOL Boy/Girl Scout troops
• Eucharistic Ministers who bring communion to homes, nursing homes, hospitals, etc.
• OLOL Careteam members or OLOL First Responder Leaders
• Religious Education substitute teachers
• Religious Education teachers and assistants

WHEN DO I ATTEND:
Please choose from one of the following dates.  The program generally lasts from 2.5 – 3 hours, but is well worth your time.

• Monday,            2/12/07  @ 7:00 PM
• Monday,        3/12/07  @ 7:00 PM

HOW DO I REGISTER:
Call the OLOL church office @ 223-8410  or  email Bonnie Brown @ krugbrown@infoave.net  (Bonnie will confirm your registration).

• Please leave your name and phone number.
• Indicate which session you choose to attend
• Attend the session you have chosen
• We will meet in the OLOL chapel (no food/drinks please)
