The Diocese of Charleston requires two years of religious education/ catechesis up to the eighth grade. For unique situations, please contact the office. A copy of baptism certificate should be provided if he/she was not baptized at OLOL.
Students are expected to attend every class for the two year period (7-8 grades).
Each child must have a sponsor who is a Catholic in good standing with the Church, who is at least 16 years of age and who is not the child’s parent.
Six Saint Reports – using the form provided in your CCD cabinets, please distribute these to your candidates so that they may become more familiar with the Saints and their involvement with the Church. In the process, perhaps they will pick a particular Saint to choose for their patron.
20 Service Hours – the candidates should participate in a variety of acts of service to aid in parish life. It may be that once the candidate gets used to the service, they may want to commit more me. The contact person in the parish is provided. A form will be available to track hours. Fr. Francisco approved of the following:
